Climate change is no longer a distant projection. It is a present operating condition for communities, infrastructure and economies across Europe. SoReCC works at the point where climate science meets societal capacity, helping partners understand not only how the climate is changing but how people, systems and institutions can absorb, adapt to and recover from those changes.
What we bring
Our Centre of Excellence brings together a multi-disciplinary network spanning engineering, social sciences, economics and environmental research. This breadth allows us to treat resilience as a whole-of-society question rather than a single-sector technical fix. We examine how climate stressors propagate through critical infrastructure, supply chains, public services and the social fabric, and how forward-looking governance can keep essential functions running through disruption.
Our role in a consortium
Within a research consortium, SoReCC contributes resilience framing, methodology and societal grounding. We help define resilience indicators and assessment frameworks, design stakeholder engagement and co-creation activities, and translate technical results into policy-relevant findings that decision makers can act on. As a non-profit association with an established stakeholder reach across public and private entities, we are well placed to lead or support work packages on societal acceptance, dissemination, exploitation and impact pathways.
Policy and funding alignment
Our work aligns directly with the European Green Deal, the EU Adaptation Strategy and the Horizon Europe clusters on Climate, Energy and Mobility and on Civil Security for Society. It contributes to Sustainable Development Goals 11, 13 and 9, supporting resilient communities, climate action and resilient infrastructure.
Value for your consortium
SoReCC offers a credible non-profit partner able to anchor the resilience narrative of a proposal, connect technical innovation to real community needs, and ensure that project outcomes reach the stakeholders who will use them.
